About

About this format

The NIT is what happens to a solid college basketball team that didn't quite make March Madness. 32 teams, single-elimination, played the same weeks as the big dance. It isn't the tournament anybody dreams about, but the early rounds are on campus and the championship has real history behind it. This bracket gives you the 32-slot shape: five rounds, 31 games, no byes. Fill in the field as the selections come out, then track the run to the NIT title.
